TOUCHCO

Touchco was a spin-off company started by my Ph.D. student Ilya Rosenberg, to commercialize our UnMousePad, a new kind of multitouch sensor based on Interpolating Force Sensitive Resistance (IFSR) that we developed at the Media Research Lab in the NYU Department of Computer Science.

In August 2009 we presented a SIGGRAPH paper about it.

There was also some very nice press, including this New York Times article.

Research into multitouch interfaces continues in our lab, where we are now exploring a variety of directions for user interfaces that incorporate multi-touch, gesture, audio and other modalities.
