ACCESS was an art installation where an electronic pan/tilt spotlight would track and follow unsuspecting persons in a public space. The system I engineered was first tested at the Eyebeam Atelier in Chelsea, NYC, and then had an extremely successful run at SIGGraph 2003 (E-Tech) in Los Angeles, CA, and later that year at Ars Electronica 2003 in Linz, Austria. The machine vision system performed rich statistical analysis of optical flow information to robustly track targets in a closed-world environment. Note that I am no longer working with the artist. She never learned how to give credit.
